Russia has chosen not to advance a film to contend in the Oscars this year, as Moscow's decaying attaches with the West over Ukraine have hit expressions and culture too.

"The presidium of the Film Foundation of Russia has chosen not to select a public film for the Oscars grant of the American Foundation of Movie Expressions and Sciences in 2022," the Russian foundation said in a proclamation, late on Monday.
